Aaeron is a hypothetical dog at this time, but he is a very real prospect coming up from Clayton Kennel in Colorado, USA when my current Service Dog retires in 4 years. He will be a Silken Windhound, a breed known for it's Whippet-like personality and Borzoi-like looks. I am quite sick and as a result cannot work a 'real' job, so I am on disability and act as a freelance artist that brings in some extra money. Sadly, I cannot afford everything I need on disability and with what work I do do. The $2000 I'm needing is just for the dog himself, his shipping and the starts of training. My medical issues are many and Aaeron will need at least 2 years worth of training.
Aaeron's tasks would cover a range of duties including:
-telling me when someone is in the room (I'm schizoaffective and can't always tell when someone is real or not),
-telling me if someone is at the door ( see note about being schioaffective)
-when I'm getting aggressively paranoid by hiding when I have a wild mood swing and
-jumping up on me or playing the 'boop' game when I'm experiencing emotional overload.
-alerting to infections before they become serious
-alerting me to when my blood sugars become too low.
But before I start training, I need to bring him home! Do you have a bit of change to spare? Anything will do. A dollar here and there adds up over time
